Description:m242 is a neutralizing monoclonal antibody against the Chikungunya virus E2 protein. As reported by Sun et al., eLife (2013), m242 binds the receptor-binding region of E2 and blocks viral attachment. The study demonstrates strong in vitro neutralization and indicates that m242 is suitable for use in in vivo CHIKV infection models.
