Background:Monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (CCL2/JE/MCP-1), also called CCL2, belongs to a group of CC chemokines located in chromosome 17q11.2. CCL2/JE/MCP-1 protein interacts with chemokine C-C motif receptor 2 (CCR2) to activate and recruit monocytes, macrophages, CD4+ T cells and immature dendritic cells to the site of infection. The presence of CCL2/JE/MCP-1 protein in an adequate concentration is important for granuloma formation and M. tuberculosis clearance.
Concentration:
Activity:Not validated for activity
Sequence:Gln24-Arg96
Purity: > 90% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.
Formulation:Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS with 5% Trehalose and 5% Mannitol.
Reconstitution:It is recommended that sterile water be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of 0.5 mg/mL. Concentration is measured by UV-Vis.
Endotoxin:< 10 EU/mg of the protein as determined by the LAL method.
Calculated MW:28 kDa
ObservedMW:30 kDa
