Collection: Bacterial and yeast Plasmid

Plasmids are extrachromosomal, circular DNA molecules that exist independently of the chromosomal DNA in bacteria and yeast. These plasmids often carry genes that confer specific traits, such as antibiotic resistance or the ability to produce certain proteins. Once extracted, these plasmids can be used in molecular cloning, gene expression studies, site-directed mutagenesis, recombinant DNA technology, and antibiotic resistance marker studies.

Our bacterial and yeast plasmid isolation kits are designed to efficiently extract and purify plasmid DNA from bacterial or yeast cultures. The extraction process involves breaking open the cells, separating the plasmid DNA from chromosomal DNA, proteins, and other cellular components, and then purifying the plasmid DNA.
