Background:Cytoplasmic potassium channel subunit that modulates the characteristics of the channel-forming alpha-subunits(PubMed:7649300, PubMed:11825900). Contributes to the regulation of nerve signaling, and prevents neuronal hyperexcitability(By similarity).
