Background:Putative ribosomal RNA methyltransferase 2(FTSJ2), also named as FJH1 or Protein FTSJ homolog 2 is a 246 amino acid protein, which belongs to the methyl-transferase superfamily. FTSJ2 localizes in the nucleus and is widely expressed in in muscle, placenta, and heart. FTSJ2 functions as a nucleolar RNA methyl-transferase involved in eukaryotic RNA processing and modification.
