Gene Name: SYP
Specificity: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
Background: Synaptophysin, also known as the major synaptic vesicle protein p38, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SYP gene. It is mapped to Xp11.23. This gene encodes an integral membrane protein of small synaptic vesicles in brain and endocrine cells. The protein also binds cholesterol and is thought to targeting of vesicle-associated membrane protein 2 (synaptobrevin) to intracellular compartments. Mutations in this gene are associated with an X-linked form of cognitive disability.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the N-terminus of human Synaptophysin/SYP, which shares 91.3% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with both mouse and rat Synaptophysin/SYP.
Clonality: Polyclonal
Contents: Each vial contains 4mg Trehalose, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg NaN3.
Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
Reconstitution: Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.
