Background:CCL19, also known as EBI1 Ligands chemokine (ELC) and macrophage inflammatory protein-3-beta, is encoded by the CCL19 gene which is located on chromosome 4 in mouse. The protein is expressed at high levels in thymus and lymph nodes, with intermediate levels in trachea and colon and low levels in stomach, lung and some other organs. CCL19 is signal through CCR7 and chemotaxis of T and B lymphocytes and myeloid progenitor cells.
