It binds mutliple lipid-containing molecules| including phosphatidylserine| phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PI4P) and oxysterol| and promotes their exchange between the endoplasmic reticulum and the plasma membrane. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
