Gene Name: HMGN2

Specificity: No cross reactivity with other proteins.

Background: Non-histone chromosomal protein HMG-17 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the HMGN2 gene. It is mapped to 1p36.11. The protein encoded by this gene binds nucleosomal DNA and is associated with transcriptionally active chromatin. Along with a similar protein, HMGN1, the encoded protein may help maintain an open chromatin configuration around transcribable genes. The protein has also been found to have antimicrobial activity against bacteria, viruses and fungi.

Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of human HMGN2, which shares 94.3% and 88.6% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with mouse and rat HMGN2, respectively.

Clonality: Polyclonal

Contents: Each vial contains 4mg Trehalose, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg NaN3.

Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.

Reconstitution: Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.
