Gene Name: FXN

Specificity:

Background: This nuclear gene encodes a mitochondrial protein which belongs to the FRATAXIN family. The protein functions in regulating mitochondrial iron transport and respiration. The expansion of intronic trinucleotide repeat GAA from 8-33 repeats to >90 repeats results in Friedreich ataxia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Immunogen: E.coli-derived human FXN recombinant protein (Position: Q20-A210). Human FXN shares 79% and 71.4% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with mouse and rat FXN, respectively.

Clonality: Polyclonal

Contents: Each vial contains 4 mg Trehalose, 0.9 mg NaCl, 0.2 mg Na2HPO4.

Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.

Reconstitution: Adding 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 μg/ml.
