Gene Name: LGALS1

Specificity: No cross reactivity with other proteins.

Background: Galectin-1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LGALS1 gene. Galectins belong to a family of related beta-galactoside-binding lectins, also referred to as S-type or S-Lac lectins. Its gene is mapped to 22q12-q13. Galectin-1 was expressed in a subset of slowly dividing subventricular zone astrocytes, which included the neural stem cells. It has been considered as an autocrine negative growth factor that regulates cell proliferation.

Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of human Galectin 1, different from the related rat and mouse sequences by one amino acid.

Clonality: Polyclonal

Contents: Each vial contains antibody formulated with stabilizing components, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg Thimerosal, 0.01mg NaN3.
*This antibody is supplied in a stabilized formulation.
Compatibility with conjugation reactions depends on the chemistry of the conjugation method used.
For conjugation methods that are not compatible with the stabilizing components present in this formulation, a carrier-free antibody format is required.

Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.

Reconstitution: Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.
