Gene Name: CLDN5

Specificity:

Background: Claudin-5 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CLDN5 gene. This gene encodes a member of the claudin family. Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junction strands. Tight junction strands serve as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets. Mutations in this gene have been found in patients with velocardiofacial syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.

Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of human Claudin 5/CLDN5, which shares 95% and 90% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with mouse and rat Claudin 5/CLDN5, respectively.

Clonality: Polyclonal

Contents: Each vial contains 4mg Trehalose, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.01mg NaN3.

Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.

Reconstitution: Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.
