Background:This gene encodes a heavily glycosylated protein which is a ligand for the NKG2D type II receptor. Binding of the ligand activates the cytolytic response of natural killer (NK) cells, CD8 alphabeta T cells, and gammadelta T cells which express the receptor. This protein is stress-induced and is similar to MHC class I molecules, however, it does not associate with an beta-2-microglobulin or bind peptides. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Concentration:

Activity:Not validated for activity

Sequence:Ala23-Gly298

Purity: > 90% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.

Formulation:Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS with 5% Trehalose and 5% Mannitol.

Reconstitution:It is recommended that sterile water be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of 0.5 mg/mL. Concentration is measured by UV-Vis.

Endotoxin:< 1.0 EU/mg of the protein as determined by the LAL method.

Calculated MW:55.2 kDa

ObservedMW:60-80 kDa
