Gene Name: KCNB1

Specificity: No cross reactivity with other proteins.

Background: KCNB1, also known as Kv2.1 or DRK1, is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the KCNB1 gene. It is mapped to 20q13.13. KCNB1 is found in cardiomyocytes, skeletal muscles, vascular smooth muscles, placental vasculature, retina, and pancreatic beta-cells. It can mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. KCNB1 represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume.

Immunogen: E.coli-derived human Kv2.1 recombinant protein (Position: V687-I858). Human Kv2.1 shares 88% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with both mouse and rat Kv2.1.

Clonality: Polyclonal

Contents: Each vial contains antibody formulated with stabilizing components, 0.9 mg NaCl, 0.2 mg Na2HPO4, and 0.05 mg NaN3.
*This antibody is supplied in a stabilized formulation.
Compatibility with conjugation reactions depends on the chemistry of the conjugation method used.
For conjugation methods that are not compatible with the stabilizing components present in this formulation, a carrier-free antibody format is required.

Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.

Reconstitution: Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.
