Gene Name: STAT2
Specificity:
Background: Signal transducer and activator of transcription 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the STAT2 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. In response to interferon (IFN), this protein forms a complex with STAT1 and IFN regulatory factor family protein p48 (ISGF3G), in which this protein acts as a transactivator, but lacks the ability to bind DNA ly. The protein mediates innate antiviral activity. Mutations in this gene result in Immunodeficiency 44.
Immunogen: E.coli-derived human STAT2 recombinant protein (Position: D290-D843). Human STAT2 shares 64.8% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with mouse STAT2.
Clonality: Polyclonal
Contents: Each vial contains 4 mg Trehalose, 0.9 mg NaCl, 0.2 mg Na2HPO4.
Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
Reconstitution: Adding 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 μg/ml.
