Gene Name: SERPINB8
Specificity:
Background: Serpin B8 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SERPINB8 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the ov-serpin family of serine protease inhibitors. The encoded protein is produced by platelets and can bind to and inhibit the function of furin, a serine protease involved in platelet functions. In addition, this protein has been found to enhance the mechanical stability of cell-cell adhesion in the skin, and defects in this gene have been associated with an autosomal-recessive form of exfoliative ichthyosis.
Immunogen: E.coli-derived human SERPINB8 recombinant protein (Position: E173-K316). Human SERPINB8 shares 80.4% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with mouse SERPINB8.
Clonality: Polyclonal
Contents: Each vial contains 4 mg Trehalose, 0.9 mg NaCl, 0.2 mg Na2HPO4.
Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
Reconstitution: Adding 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 μg/ml.
