Soluble LT-? binds to and signals through TNFR1\/TNFR2, activating the canonical NF-?B pathway. In contrast, LT ?1?2 heterodimers bind to the LT?R receptor and activate the noncanonical NF-?B pathway. As a result, LT-? and TNF-? have overlapping functions. Soluble LT-? and LT ?1?2 play key roles in lymphangiogenesis.
