The complement pathway plays an essential role in the innate and adaptive immune response. The encoded protein is synthesized as a zymogen and is activated when it complexes with the pathogen recognition molecules of lectin pathway, the mannose-binding lectin and the ficolins. This protein is not directly involved in complement activation but may play a role as an amplifier of complement activation by cleaving complement C2 or by activating another complement serine protease, MASP-2. The encoded protein is also able to cleave fibrinogen and factor XIII and may may be involved in coagulation. A splice variant of this gene which lacks the serine protease domain functions as an inhibitor of the complement pathway. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[p\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"GeneBio Systems","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":48647069139044,"sku":"ES1067","price":281.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0558\/8588\/9636\/files\/no_image_default_image-jpeg_756d767b-41b9-470b-a9e4-dd0e136e6351.jpg?v=1782687675","url":"https:\/\/www.genebiosystems.com\/en-gb\/products\/cleaved-masp-1-hc-r448-rabbit-pab-antibody","provider":"GeneBio ","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
